The Parsons Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring a Wilderness Search and Rescue Awareness and Operations Class.
The 20 hour course will be held in a wilderness setting where students will participate in practical evolutions in the wilderness setting. Students should come prepared and dressed to accommodate the elements throughout the duration of the course. It is also recommended that students come to class hydrated and bring plenty of fluids to remain hydrated throughout the weekend.
The class will be instructed by Roger Brafford and Bryan Roy.
There is a limit on the number of students that the course can accommodate.
The class, which has yet to have a date selected, should be offered sometime in February. The cost for the course is $55 per person. For more information or to register contact Michael Canfield at 304-642-1711 or Amanda Simmons at 304-621-2678.
