The Tucker County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation into a St. George man who passed on Thursday, January 06, 2022. According to the Sheriff’s Department Daryl Heckler; 73 of St. George was found unresponsive on the above date at around 5:30 p.m.by family.

Emergency services were dispatched to Minear Mill Road. Heckler was found deceased on his bulldozer with damage to the bulldozer. Activities just prior to the death appeared to be cutting and clearing debris from Minear Mill Road which indicated contributing factor for cause of death.

Heckler was by himself when the accident happened. He has been sent to the state medical examiner’s office in Charleston for further examination. The Parsons Detachment of the West Virginia State Police assisted in the investigation. At this time the investigation does not appear to be suspicious.
