Tucker county girls cruise at Pocahontas county 69-54

DUNMORE – The Lady Mt. Lions traveled to Pocahontas County for their only game this week on Tuesday December 8th. Tucker County dominated the second quarter and cruised to a 69-54 road win.

Both teams came out firing in the first quarter as the Lady Mt. Lions held a slim 18-16 lead after one. Tucker County exploded in the second quarter as they outscored the host Lady Warriors 25-10 to pull away at the half 43-26.

In the third quarter Tucker County out played the host again 16-13 to extend the lead after three 59-39. The Lady Mt. Lions reserve players finished the fourth quarter and Pocahontas County outpaced Tucker County in the final quarter 15-10. This wasn’t enough to get the Lady Warriors close as Tucker County took home the win 69-54

Sydney Nestor led the way for Tucker County with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Madison Reall had 12 points and Leslie Nestor added 8 points. The Lady Mt. Lions JV team cruised to a 46-22 win in the first game of the night.

The Lady Mt. Lions are scheduled to return to action this Tuesday December 15th at Home against Moorefield. The Tucker County Girls’ will then host Tygarts Valley on Thursday December 17th for a varsity only contest at 7pm. Thursday’s game will be broadcast on 94.7fm WELK.
