Madison Reall takes the ball to the basket in the Lady Mt. Lions 59-51 win over Notre Dame last Friday

BAKER – The Lady Mt. Lions Basketball team traveled to East Hardy to play PVC Conference foe on Tuesday January 5th. Tucker County took the contest on the road by the final score of 63-32.
The Lady Mt. Lions jumped out to the lead as Tucker County led after one 13-8. In the second quarter Tucker County extended their lead as they outscored the Lady Cougars 13-5 to make the score 26-13 Lady Mt, Lions at the half.
East Hardy go their offense going in the third quarter, but they could not outpace Tucker County and the Lady Mt. Lions took a 44-28 advantage after three quarters. The defense again stepped up for Tucker County as they held the Lady Cougars to just 3 points and scored 19 points to get the victory 63-32.
Sydney Nestor led the way for Tucker County with 28 points and 8 rebounds. Lydia Mullenax added 8 points and Sydney Moore dished out 7 assists for the Lady Mt. Lions in the win.
HAMBLETON – #2 Tucker County hosted #8 Notre Dame on Friday January 8th. The Lady Mt. Lions pulled away in the fourth quarter and never looked back to secure a 59-51 win over the Lady Irish.
Tucker County fell behind in the first quarter as Notre Dame led after one quarter 16-10. The Lady Mt. Lions rallied back in the second quarter to outscore the visitors 17-11 to tie the score at the half 27-27.
Tucker County continued their momentum in the third quarter as they outpaced the Lady Irish 20-11 to make the score 47-38 after three. In the fourth quarter the Lady Mt. Lions maintained their lead and made their foul shots down the stretch to pick up victory with the final score of 59-51.
Sydney Nestor led all scorers with 27 points and she also pulled down 8 rebounds. Madison Reall added 8 points and Sydney Moore had 12 rebounds in the win for Tucker County.
The Lady Mt. Lions(8-2) will return to action on Friday January 15th at St. Marys Tournament against Trinity at 6pm. The girls’ will then face St. Marys on Saturday Jan 16th at 7:30pm. For more info or complete schedules go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
