“People fear what they don’t understand.” When it comes to Mental Health Care, this statement is especially true. Individuals suffering from mental health disorders shy away from seeking treatment, many times for the sake of labeling alone. This workshop has been created to shed some light on issues facing society in unimaginable ways.”
Description & Objective:
This workshop provides a brief overview of mental health-related maladies, statistics on deaths related to mental health, and stigmas that prevent individuals from seeking treatment for mental health-related issues. The objective of this workshop is to expose misconceptions and common stigmas related to mental health hygiene and treatment.
