DAVIS – Canaan Valley State Park Ski Resort was hopping Friday as folks there, and around the world, came together to learn to ski and snowboard

during the World’s Largest Ski Lesson

on Friday. More than 20 participants took a lesson locally as the Organizing Team set out to break records across the globe for the amount of people learning to ski or snowboard.

Terry Stone of Canaan Valley State Park Ski Resort said their numbers would be melded with those across the world to try and break the industry and Guinness World Records for the most people taking a ski or snowboard lesson at the same time.

“This is the world’s largest multi-venue ski lesson,” said Warren Wick of Canaan Valley Ski School. “That means there are participating resorts nationwide.”

Wick said he was excited for the day’s activities.

“I am really excited so many people came up to get a feel for this sport and enjoy our slopes,” Wick said. “I am so happy we finally have some snow out here to ski on.”

The first 20 participants enjoyed a free 1.5 hour lesson, lift ticket and equipment rental for the day. Additional participants received a reduced rate on the day’s activities.

Information about Canaan Valley State Park skiing is available online at www.canaanresort.com or by calling 304-866-4121.
