Illinois family uses vacation to volunteer at shelter

Marybeth McDonald along with daughters Tess and Nora drove from Illinois to volunteer at the Tucker County Animal ShelterHow many people, do you know, would drive 10 1/2 hours to volunteer at Tucker County Animal Shelter? None you say. Well quite the contrary. Marybeth McDonald along with daughters Tess and Nora drove from Illinois. This isn’t their first time to spend their vacation cleaning the shelter and loving on the dogs and cats.

This wonderful family not only paid vetting expenses for a special needs cat…. they adopted her! Not leaving her kittens behind, Landon and Lincoln will be also joining the McDonald family.

Upon saying their goodbyes at the shelter, Cathy Parsons, shelter director, said “I walked back to the porch only to find a donation check under my coffee cup. How do you ever express your gratitude to such wonderful people.”
