In the early morning hours, last week,  fire was discovered and quickly extinguished at the Kingsford Charcoal Manufacturing facility in Parsons, West Virginia. The fire was contained to a small area within the plant.

Most importantly, all employees are safe. Safety is a core value of the company so a team will be conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause and prevent it from happening again.

Kingsford has an ongoing partnership with the fire department to help ensure that if any incidents occur they are addressed quickly with positive results. “We have a great relationship,” said Chief Kevin White of Company 10. “At different times throughout the year we tour the facility and hold hours of discussions to better prepare ourselves for times such as this. Kingsford has always taken our suggestions and implemented changes to help in fire safety and suppression efforts.”
