Service interruption for system reliability improvements planned for Timberline and Canaan Valley areas of Tucker County, on Wednesday, Nov. 1

Mon Power will disrupt electric service to about 760 customers in parts of Tucker County on Wednesday, Nov. 1 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  We regret the inconvenience, but the service interruption is necessary to upgrade protective devices for our underground distribution network in Timberline.

The outage will affect the entire Timberline community and the Freeland Road area.

Mon Power will invest about $80,000 to improve reliability for the local system by replacing protective devices known as “switch gear” that can isolate problems affecting underground cables to limit the number of customers affected if service interruptions occur.

The work is time-consuming and will require about 10 workers to complete.

A second, smaller service interruption to complete the work will occur from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 8, and affect only Timberline’s main lodge and maintenance building.

Rain dates for the outages are November 2 and 9 at the same times.

Mon Power will attempt to contact affected customers by phone prior to the outage.  Customers with questions about the planned outage can call Mon Power’s Customer Service at 1-800-686-0022.
