Senior Center Holds Outpost

pb010026 pb010021The Tucker County Senior Citizens held their monthly outpost at the Parsons Center on November 1, 2016. Evelyn Moore welcomed everyone. Everyone recited the Lord’s Prayer, gave the Pledge of Allegiance and then sang “God Bless America.”
Linda Bonner read the minutes from the October Outpost which were approved as read.
Those having November birthdays were recognized. They were Pastor Greg Smith and Arlene Ramsey.
The Goldenaires choir then sang “Let My Light Shine” and “Thank You Lord for the Blessings on Me”
Bernice Hymes them read “Taking Time” and Adelene Snyder read “Autumn Mischief.”
The Veteran’s Program began with a reading by Evelyn Moore titled “Veterans.”
The Tucker County Veterans then demonstrated the proper way to fold the flag while Linda Bonner read “Why the American Flag is Folded 13 Times.”
The Veterans then gave a report on their accomplishments for the year including doing 10 funerals, several fundraisers, visiting local schools and completing and dedicating the Veteran’s Monument in Davis. The Ladies Auxiliary was also recognized and thanked for all their support. A moment of silence was held for all the local veterans who have passed away this year.
Pastor Greg Smith of the First Baptist Church of Parsons then blessed the audience with several songs. They included “God’s Been Good to Me,” “Amazing Grace/My Chains Are Gone,” “Sweet Hour of Prayer,” “When We Bow at Jesus’ Feet,” and “Were It Not For Grace.”
Door prized were won by Merry Lowe, Randolph Lipscomb, Don Nestor, Earl Moore and Evelyn Moore.
Pastor Smith gave a blessing on the food and everyone enjoyed a delicious meal.
