The weather did not deter folks from coming together to say good-bye to Dr. Elaine Moore.  A covered dish lunch and get together was attended by a many of Moore’s patients and community members, on last Wednesday, to wish Moore good luck and heartfelt thanks for her service to Tucker County.
Debbie Stevens, owner of Stevens’ Realty and Gifts to Go and organizer of the event, said grace and thanked everyone for coming out.  She thanked Moore for her quality care of patients and commended her on her effective and caring staff. She also thanked the City of Parsons, Roger Losh, of Parsons Shop-N-Save, David and Kennetha Greenlief, of Kidwell Auto Parts and all the people who brought food.
Moore, who has been a physician for the last two years at DirectCare of Parsons, will be going to Thomas Memorial Hospital in Charleston.  She said, “I love it here and how it reminds me of where I grew up.”
Bob Keeler said, “I think it is a travesty that we are losing Dr. Moore in the community, I hate to see her go and I will be traveling to Charleston to keep her as my doctor.”
Parsons resident, Ren Adkins, said “We are so sorry to see Dr. Moore go, she is an excellent physician and this is a huge loss to our community.  My wife and I have come to see her numerous times, and been told that they couldn’t get us in.  What a shame.”

Eight year old, Drew Steinman, of Parsons, says good-bye to his favorite doctor with a card and floral arrangement.

Tucker County Commissioner, Lowell Moore, said “This is a very sad day for our community, we all hate to see Dr. Moore go.  She is an excellent doctor and has provided quality care for the residents of Tucker County.  If she can ever come back we will welcome her with open arms.”
Dr. Moore said, “I will still be around, I plan to keep my home in Canaan.”
