Adelene Elizabeth Knotts Snyder, 83, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Davis Medical Center in Elkins.
Adelene was born on Sunday, February 3, 1935 in Benbush, a daughter of the late Delton Carl Knotts and Louise Josephine Shambaugh Knotts. On August 3, 1956 in Oakland, MD, she was united in marriage to Kelly Ralph Snyder. They had celebrated sixty-one years of marriage.
Left to cherish Adelene’s memory is one son, Kelly Ralph Snyder, Jr, and wife, Kathy of Canton, OH, one daughter, Kimberly Sue Peel and husband Robert of Massillon, OH, three grandchildren, Rachel Lee Kuhn, of Louisville, OH, Lisa Christine Snyder of Louisville, OH, and Clifton Patrick Bann of Massillon, OH, three great grandchildren, Chloe Lynn Snyder, Cody Parker Bann and Rylee Quinn Bann, three brothers, William A. Knotts, Delton Carl Knotts, Jr. and wife Wanda, Norman Knotts and wife Gabby, five sisters, Pauline L. Lowther, Arlene Ramsey, Patricia Wilfong and husband, Forrest, and Judith Ternent and husband, Harry, of Lanaconing, MD and Norma Jones and husband Keith.
Preceding Adelene in death are two sisters, Malora J. Corbin and Karen Knotts, two brothers, Mervin and Clarence Knotts.
Adelene graduated Parsons High School and was a stay at home mom. She loved spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren, traveling with her sisters, baking cookies and candy for family and friends, singing in the choir, going to the Senior Center, and attending Outpost. Adelene did baking for funerals at the church, enjoyed traveling to Ohio, having family visits, getting together celebrating family birthdays, and socializing with friends.
Visitation was held at the Hostetler Funeral Home in Parsons Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service was conducted Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 2 p.m. Rev. Philip Dent officiated and interment followed in Bethel Cemetery in Holly Meadows. The Hostetler Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements for Adelene Elizabeth Knotts Snyder.
