Alice Irene Janasky Risley

Alice Irene Janasky Risley, 74, a resident of the Mt. Zion Community, passed from this life Monday, February 19, 2018 at her home.


Alice was born on Sunday, September 26, 1943 in Somers Point, NJ , a daughter of the late John Cornelius Janasky and Mary Sine Janasky. On September 21, 1963, she married Edward Karl Risley who survives. They had celebrated 54 years of marriage.

Left to cherish Alice’s memory are three children, Jay Neil Janasky and wife, Mary of Somers Point, NJ, Debra Lynn Harper of Juneau, AK, and Maryanne Elizabeth Risley of Parsons, one sister, Sue Ann Mazza of Mays Landing, NJ, nine grandchildren, Amanda, Deena, Bobby, Matthew, Heather, Allison, Josh, Autumn and Halie and two great grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by one brother, Neil Janasky.

Alice was a graduate of Ocean City High School in New Jersey. She had worked as an administrative assistant for the US Air Force and the US Army as she followed her husband during his military career. She enjoyed canning anything that she could, reading, and playing computer games. She loved her family and spending time with them.

Visitation was at Hostetler Funeral Home on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 5 to 7p.m., the funeral hour. Rev Sue Metzner officiated and Alice’s request for cremation was honored. The Hostetler Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements for Alice Irene Janasky Risley. Condolences may be made to the family at www.hostetlerfuneralhome.com
