Jean married Pat Sagace on May 26, 1951, and they had celebrated 65 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2016. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Robert Sagace, and daughter Patti Helmick, as well as her brothers Robert and Art Stuart, and sister Helen Bryan.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Sagace in Thomas, her sister Louise Hitch in Big Springs, Texas, her brother Ronald (Bonnie) Stuart in Canaan Valley, her sister-in-law Julia Stuart in Willoughby, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.

Jean was employed by the Tucker County School system for 17 years as a cook at both Davis-Thomas and Tucker County High School. She enjoyed watching hockey, attending rock concerts, and spending time with her family.

Friends were received at Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home, Sunday, July 11, from 4 – 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was held 11 a.m., Monday, July 12, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Smay as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Sagace family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory to Mountaineer Humane Society, PO Box 721, Davis, WV 26260 or Cortland Foundation, 39 Cortland Acres Lane, Thomas, WV 26292.
