Betty Lane White, 88, a resident of the White Ridge Community, passed from this life on Monday, March 25, 2019, at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown.

Betty was born on Monday, October 27, 1930, in St. George, a daughter of the late Morris L. White and Mary L. Wotring White.

Left to cherish Betty’s memory is one brother, Jerry R. White of St. George, two sisters, Effie “Dot” Dumire of Oakland, MD, and Madeline Messiora of Morgantown, several nieces and nephews and a special friend and neighbor, Bonnie Elms.

Preceding Betty in death besides her parents was seven brothers, Robert White, Ralph White, Paul White, Morris White, Kenneth White, Blaine White, and Dale White, two sisters, Elizabeth Close and Gwendolyn Hebb, and a foster brother, Delford Cool.

Betty attended the schools of Tucker County. She helped her parents on the farm and took care of them in their later years. She enjoyed farming and was an avid gardener with quite a green thumb. She loved being outdoors and tending to her flowers. She had attended the Church of God at White Ridge.

Visitation was held at the Hostetler Funeral Home on Thursday, March 28, 2019, from 12 until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Rev. Carroll Harvey officiated, and interment followed at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Limestone. The Hostetler Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements for Betty Lane White. Send online condolences to the family at www.hostetlerfuneralhome.com.
