Betty Lou Lambert Bedford

Betty Lou Lambert Bedford, 80, a resident of Montrose, went to be with the Lord after a long, hard battle with Emphysema and COPD late Sunday evening, November 23, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born Monday, November 12, 1934, in Rowlesburg, a daughter of the late Everett Lambert and Leota Hebb Lambert. On May 15, 1954 in Oakland, MD, she was married to John Randolph Bedford, Sr., who survives. They had celebrated sixty years of marriage.

Others left to cherish Betty’s memory are four children, Dianne Lou Bodkin and husband, Rick, John Randolph Bedford, Jr. and wife, Lucille Ann, James Allen Bedford and companion, Martha Daman, all of Montrose, and Rosemarie Lynn Liggett and husband, George Ellis of Mannington, one brother, Robert “Bob” Lambert and wife, Jo of Moorehead, KY, ten grandchildren, Rick Bodkin, Jr. and wife, April, Jimmy Bodkin and wife, Misty, Glenn Bedford and wife, Danielle, Jimmy Bedford and wife, Amanda, Katie Herron and husband, Tim, Susan Moral Morris and husband, Robbie, Jenny Phillips, Joe Liggett, Lindzee Liggett, John Samuel Taylor Painter and wife, Chloe, seventeen great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Shane, Whitley, Chase, Tyler, Dustin, Emily, Kendra, “Little G” Glenn, Jordan, Ethan, John Tucker, Preston, Alex, Elin, and Remington, great great grandchildren, Sophia Bedford and Andalynn Johnson.

Betty was preceded in death by an infant brother, Johnny Lambert.

Betty was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1953, and was a hard working homemaker. She enjoyed watching animals, especially feeding and caring for her hummingbirds. She also enjoyed watching football and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She was a member of Mercy Chapel in Montrose. Most of all, this loving wife, mother, and grandmother enjoyed seeing her family taken care of, together and happy. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation was held at the Summerfield Funeral Home Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m.. A funeral service was conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 1 p.m. Pastor David Fisher officiated and interment will follow in Montrose Primitive Baptist Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in memory of Betty to the Montrose Mercy Chapel P.O. Box 52 Montrose WV 26283. The Summerfield Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Betty Lou Lambert Bedford. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.summerfieldfuneralhome.com.
