Charles William Fox, 94, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Friday, September 20, 2024, at Tygart Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Belington.

 

Charles was born Friday, November 22, 1929, in Hambleton, a son of the late Henry Harrison Fox and Edna Summerfield Fox Jordan.  He was married to the late Ruth Skidmore Fox who preceded him in death on July 30, 2004.

 

Left to cherish Charles’ memory are two sisters, Pearl Bolyard of Moatsville, and Jean Hart of Morgantown, a stepdaughter, Teresa Miller and husband, Robert of Elkins, five nieces, Gloria Fox, Loretta Lawson, Janet Canfield, Ellamae Hurley, and Pam Bonner, three nephews, Butch Fox, Richard Dumire, and Jonathan Crites, several step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren, a special friend, Charlie Ramsey, and his beloved dog, Bella.

 

Preceding Charles in death besides his parents and wife were two brothers, Harold Fox and Robert Fox, a sister, Rada Roy, and a stepson, Jerry Bolyard,

 

Charles attended the schools of Tucker County and served with the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force where he obtained his GED and fought in the Korean Conflict. He had been employed in construction and coal mining.  Charles enjoyed playing guitar, hunting, fishing, watching westerns and family gatherings.  He was a member of the H.W. Daniels Post #29, American Legion and Elkins Family Worship Center.  

 

Visitation will be held at the Hostetler Funeral Home on Monday, September 23, 2023, from 12pm until 1pm, the funeral hour.  Rev. Jim Weber will officiate, and interment will follow in Parsons City Cemetery where members of H.W. Daniels Post #29, American Legion, Tygarts Valley Post #3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Tucker County Veterans Association, and WV Honor Guard.  The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Charles William Fox.  Send online condolences to the family at: www.hostetlerfuneralhome.com.
