CHERYL LOU CARR LANSBERRY

Cheryl Lou Carr Lansberry, age 73 years, a resident of the Blackman Heights Community, Hambleton, WV departed this life Thursday evening, April 25, 2019 at her home.  She had been in declining health; however, death was unexpected.


She was born November 16, 1945 at Parsons, WV, a daughter of the late Harry Earl and Maxine Savilla Heckler Carr.   She was married to Paul B. Lansberry, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Jennifer Jenny Renay Akins-Moffatt and husband Bob of   Dumfries, VA; four brothers,  Richard Carr and wife Chris, Russell Carr and wife Wanda, Thomas Carr and wife Tammy, all of Akron, OH,  and Gary Michael Carr of Parsons, WV; one sister, Londa Whittaker-Mick of Holly Meadows; four step-grandchildren, Mary E. Moffatt, Tara M. Moffatt, Katie M. Moffatt and William L. Moffatt; nieces and nephews, Stormie Meloy, J.R. Barkley, Martyna Cordia, Therece Shnea and Forest Whittaker.

Preceding her in death are one sister, Mari Jane Barkley.

She attended the schools of Akron, OH and was a graduate of Central High School with the class of 1963.  She was a former employee of Aetna Life Insurance Co., D&W Truck Lines and secretary for Dewey Wilfong.  She along with her husband owned and operated the former P & C Grocery at Hambleton and the P & C Furniture Store in Parsons. She also prepared taxes for several people in the area.   She sang with the Gospel Groups “The Gospel Five” and also with “Sara and Friends” for many years.  She was an active member of the Riverview Chapel Church at Porterwood.  She enjoyed collecting Longaberger baskets, shopping and singing.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. The Rev. James Snyder will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Cheryl Lou Carr Lansberry.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
