Clifford Allen Phillips, 81, a resident of Hambleton, passed away from this life April 28, 2020 at Davis Medical Center in Elkins.
Clifford was born May 24, 1938, along Horseshoe Run, Tucker County, the son of the late Robert Dewey Phillips and Izetta Alberta Knotts Phillips. Clifford married Betty Joan Katzenmiller September 5, 1958 at Red House, MD.
Left to cherish Clifford’s memory is one son Allan G Phillips and wife Michelle, daughter in-law Brenda Booth Farnsworth and husband Dan of TX, five grandchildren Reanna Chapman and husband Steve of WV, Jon Phillips of WV, Erin Cooley and husband Nathanael of IL, Chelsea Sibert and husband Matthew of Tx, Katelyn Anderson and husband Connor of NY, three great grandchildren, Milo Cooley, Charles and Myra Anderson, two brothers Harold Phillips and wife Ann of FL, Randy Phillips and wife Rose of WV, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Clifford in death besides his parents were his wife Betty and his oldest son Larry Robert Phillips and a brother Roger Phillips.
He was a veteran of the United States Air force and an avid outdoorsman.
A private family service will be held. For anyone wishing to pay their respects in person, the funeral home will be open Friday, May 1, 2020, from 2 pm until 6 pm. We are still observing CDC guidelines for social distancing in a public venue and we will limit the number of people in the facility at one time. Clifford’s request for cremation will then be honored. The family suggests that donations be made in memory of Clifford and Joan Phillips to Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church, 203 Central Ave. Parsons, WV 26287.
