Darwin Elbert Jones

obit Darwin JonesDarwin Elbert Jones, age 58 years, a resident of Pheasant Run Community and more recently Parsons, departed this life early Wednesday morning, August 21, 2013 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born Monday, October 18, 1954 at Parsons,  a son of the late Earl Elmo Jones and Elsie Mae Nestor Jones, who survives at Shavers Fork.
Also surviving are one daughter, Crystal Collar and husband Peter of Parsons; three brothers, Denzal Elmo Jones and wife Debra of Pheasant Run, Kerens,  Delvin Erick Jones and wife Rebecca of Triangle, Va.; Dale Evan Jones and wife Robin of Sugarlands;  one sister, Delorce Ethel Booth and husband Dewey of Shavers Fork; two granddaughters, Ava Marie Collar and Trista Cheyenne Collar, both of Parsons; and several nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.
Preceding him in death one brother, Delmas Earl Jones; one sister in law, Chung Suk “Judy” Jones.
He attended Parsons High School.  He was a former employee of the Kingsford Charcoal Company and a handyman, working various construction jobs.  He was an avid outdoorsman, hunt and fish, enjoyed gardening, canning, making deer jerky. He was a noted raspberry grower.  He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m.  Final rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at 1 p.m.  The Rev. J. Michael Lantz  officiated and interment  followed at the Parsons Family Cemetery at Shavers Fork.   The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements for Darwin Elbert Jones.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
