Dearl Richard Bohon, age 79 years, a resident of Hambleton, WV, departed this life Saturday, December 28, 2013 at his home, following a sudden illness.

He was born Monday, October 22, 1934 at St. George, WV, a son of the late Toney Calvin Bohon and Janet Louise Miller Bohon Rhoades. He had been previously married to Virginia Barkley Willy of PA.

Surviving are one son, Richard Calvin Bohon of PA; two brothers, Robert G. Bohon of Elkins and Oved W. Bohon of Parsons; three sisters, Delain Mullenax of Elkins, Della Akins and Delores Nine and husband Nick, all of Hambleton; two grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He attended the one room school #6 at Location and the Saint George School. He worked in the steel mill at Loraine, OH; was an employee for the former Bohon Service Station. He worked the dye house at the Woolen Mill; was a former employee of the Kingsford Charcoal Co., and the former Wratchford Exxon and Royal Crown Cola in Parsons. He retired in 1996 from the City of Parsons with twenty one years of service. He was affiliated with the Parsons Church of God. He liked hunting, fishing and taking pictures. He was a kind, gentle man who will be truly missed by his family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. The Rev. David Snyder will officiate and interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery at Location Community, St. George, WV.
