Donald Lee Cangley, 79, of Thomas, WV died January 3, 2017 at Cortland Acres.

He was born October 11, 1937 in Thomas, WV a son of the late Augustus John and Dorothy Marie Gross Cangley. Also preceding him in death were three brothers; Robert, Dick and John Cangley, one step- daughter; Betsy Mazitis Cangley, one step-son; Victor Mazitis, and one half – sister; Dolly Liller. Survivors include three sons; Ronald Lee Cangley, Harpers Ferry, WV, Mark (Bethany) Cangley, Thomas, WV, Douglas (Tracy) Cangley, Weatherford, TX, one daughter; Lisa Marie (Carl) Huffman, Thomas, WV, 11 grandchildren; Cynthia Shaffer, Vicki Woodyard, Colton Cangley, Derek Huffman, Tyler Huffman, Lauren Huffman, Sydney Cangley, Seth Cangley, Emerson Cangley, and Callee Cangley. Mr. Cangley was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was employed as a coal miner. He enjoyed hunting and playing piano. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Thomas.

Friends were received on Friday Jan. 6 from 1 -3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Thomas. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. with Rev. David Shaffer officiating. Interment followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery where graveside military rites were held by American Legion Post 71 of Oakland, MD and VFW Post 10077 of Deer Park, MD. Hinkle Funeral Home iwas in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
