Edna Arbutice “Beauty” Harper Myers

Edna Arbutice “Beauty” Harper Myers, 82, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville, Tennessee.

Beauty was born Tuesday, September 9, 1941, in Tucker County, daughter of the late Frank Harper and Effie Mae Varner Harper.  In 1956, she married the love of her life Cleton Myers in Baltimore, Maryland.  Cleton preceded her in death on January 25, 1996.

Also left to cherish Beauty’s memory are four children, Ernest “Leroy” Myers and wife Janet of Moore Community, Timothy “Turtle” Wayne Myers and companion Crystal Martin of Parsons, Carolyn Sue Gray and companion Delvin Knotts of Parsons, and Tina Marie Griffith and companion Jean Claude of Lehigh Acres, Florida, nine grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, three brothers, Bill Harper, John Harper, and Junior Harper, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Beauty in death besides her parents and husband were nine siblings, Frank, Alfred, Harry, Tom, Carl, Paul “Sweetie”, Jennifer, Daniel, and Ann Harper Phillips.

Beauty attended Tucker County Schools and had obtained her GED.  She worked for Reidbord Brothers, Tucker County Hospital, Parsons Footwear, Tucker County Schools, and the City of Parsons.  She enjoyed sewing, crafting, traveling, helping people, and spending time with her family.  She will be missed by her family and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Hostetler Funeral Home from 5 until 8 p.m.  Funeral services were held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 11 a.m.  Rev James Snyder and Rev. Bill Hardy officiated, and interment followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Parsons.
