Ellouise Ann Humphreys Smith

Ellouise Ann Humphreys Smith, 77, a resident of Hendricks, passed from this life Friday, December 1, 2017 at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown. She had been in declining health.


Ellouise was born Friday, April 5, 1940, in Beckley, a daughter of the late Alice Humphreys. On July 5, 1978 in Baltimore, MD, she married Ray Smith who preceded her in death May 10, 2005.

Left to cherish Ellouise’s memory are her children, Deborah Joyce White, Karen Kicklighter, Janet Chetelat, Patricia Tuesing, Darlena Crosten, Kenneth Smith and Sharon Smith, six step children, five sisters, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

Ellousie was preceded in death by two children, Wanda J. McFadden and Cathy Pennington and one brother.

Ellouise attended the schools of Raleigh County and was a homemaker. She had worked various jobs and had last worked at Five Rives Library in Parsons. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed watching Dr. Phil and Judge Judy. She loved her family and spending time with them. She had attended St. John’s United Methodist Church.

Cremation will be honored and interment will follow in Concord Cemetery in Belington. The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Ellouise Ann Humphreys Smith. Send online condolences to the family at www.hostetlerfuneralhome.com
