Elnor Louise Hardy Ashby

obit Ashby obit picElnor Louise Hardy Ashby, age 68 years, a resident of Parsons,  departed this life Tuesday evening, September 10, 2013 at the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center at Elkins.  She had been in declining health and death was attributed to complications of cancer.

 
She was born Wednesday, June 6, 1945 at Parsons,  a daughter of the late Oscar Felix and Violet Lucille Wingfield Hardy.  On January 8, 1966 at Oakland, Md., she was married to Howard Dale Ashby, who survives.

 
Also surviving are one son, Jeffrey Nelson Ashby of Saranac Lake, N.Y.; one daughter, Jennifer Ellen Hebb and husband David of Parsons; three grandchildren, Lindsey Amie and husband Ray, Daniel Hebb and Caitlin Hebb and fiance’ Jeremy Cussins, all of Parsons and two great granddaughters, Jadyn and Gabriella.
She attended Parsons High School.  She was an employee of the former Dorman Mills, and worked as a nurse’s aide for many years.  She was a noted cook.  She had a passion for her cats and animals.  She was a devoted Christian, never knew a stranger and she adored her grandchildren and great granddaughters.

 
The family  received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m..  Final rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:30 a.m.  The Rev. Dave Snyder and The Rev. Eli Hostetler officiated and intermentl followed at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center, 169 Diamond Street, Elkins, WV 26241.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements for Elnor Louise Hardy Ashby.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at;
