Gordon “John” Hedrick

Gordon “John” Hedrick, 91, formerly of Red Creek area, died July 27, 2013 at Cortland Acres. He was born June 15, 1922 in Red Creek, WV a son of the late Flick and Maudie Meadows Raines Hedrick. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joanne Kisamore Hedrick in 1987 and his second wife, Joy Lu Harman Hedrick in 2011. Also preceding him in death was one brother, Burley Hedrick, and three sisters, Loutie Smith, Kate Hedrick, and Gladys Hedrick.
He is survived by one son, John Joseph (Karen) Hedrick, Heath, Ohio, three grandchildren, Todd Michael Hedrick, Mindee Beth Mannamo, Jordan Carl Hedrick, and three great- grandchildren, Jackson Mannamo, Carter Mannamo, and Heath Hedrick.
Mr. Hedrick was a U.S. Army Air Force WWII Veteran. He retired as bookkeeper in the concrete and gravel business. He was a faithful member of Davis United Methodist Church and also a member of the Masonic Order of Elkins Lodge #108, Scottish Rite Masonry of Cambridge, Ohio, Theran Grotto of Newark, Ohio, Davis Odd Fellowes Lodge #108, and VFW Post 5781 of Harman, WV.
Friends will be received Monday, July 29, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Hinkle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Hinkle Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Hedrick officiating. Interment will follow in Davis Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
