Hilda Mae Thomas, 87 of Thomas, West Virginia passed away Sunday, March 4th, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 10th, 1930 in Parsons, West Virginia a daughter of the late Robert W. and Floda A Hedrick Lambert.


She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Gene Thomas in 1978. Also preceding her in death is one sister, Mary Alice Klein.

She is survived by one son, Matthew S. Thomas, Thomas, West Virginia, one daughter, Jeannette T. (Robert) Jenkins, Orange, VA, one brother, Robert D. (Jeannette) Lambert, Thomas, West Virginia, and one sister, Shirley (Joseph) Perozziello, Randallstown, MD.

Mrs. Thomas worked at Island Creek Coal Company as a secretary and later in life as a hostess at Blackwater Falls. She was a member of the Thomas United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time entertaining her family and friends. She especially loved listening to music and singing. She was an avid gardener.

Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Friday March 9 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services were held, 11 a.m., Saturday, March 10 at Hinkle Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Neil Parsons officiating. Interment followed in the Buena Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
