Jacob Robert “Bob” Norman, age 75 years, a resident of Parsons, WV departed this life Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, at Morgantown, under the care of West Virginia Caring. Death was attributed to complications of a stroke.
He was born August 18, 1942 at Parsons, WV, a son of the late Jacob F. “Jake” Norman and Felma Ends Norman. On June 2, 1968 at Pifer Mountain, he was married to the former Belva Jean Shahan, who preceded him in death October 19, 2006.
Surviving are one son, Jacob “Joey” Norman wife Janet of Dumfries, VA; two daughters, Kathy Kisselbach of Inwood, WV and Kimberly Lipscomb and husband Charles of Hambleton, WV; one sister, Ruth Sherlene Mullenax of Thomas, WV; ten grandchildren’ and his special friend, “Suzy” Cowger of Martinsburg, WV.
He attended Parsons High School. He was a former employee of the West Virginia Dept. of Highways, Kingsford Charcoal Co., he was a coalminer and retired from Ricottilli Lumber Co., during 2009. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, serving the Lord, and was a member of the Sycamore Grove Church at St. George.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 11 a.m. Rev. Pat Cassidy officiated, and interment followed at the Pifer Mountain Cemetery at St. George. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements for Jacob Robert “Bob” Norman.
