James Truman Udes

James Truman Udes, age 84 years, a resident of the Mount Zion Community, St. George, WV departed this life Sunday afternoon, January 11, 2015 at the Davis Medical Center at Elkins, WV.

JamesTrumanUdesHe was born Thursday, March 13, 1930 at Baltimore, MD, a son of the late Stanley and Cecelia Greenfield Udes. On August 23, 1959 at Baltimore, MD, he was married to the former Jeanne Carol Moody, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are two sons, James Truman Udes, II of SC, and Richard Donald Udes and wife Chris of OK; two daughters, Linda Jeanne Sinish of VA, and Sandra Dianne Poling and husband Ronald of Parsons, WV; five grandchildren, Brandy, Cassandra, Dawn, Michael and Ricky; ten great grandchildren, Olivia, Caden, Dylan, Gerry, Zethan, Christan, Noah, Hunter, Michala and Israel; and his loving caretaker, Louise Frymyer, whom he thought of as his own family.

Preceding him in death are one stepson, John Avery Matthews; one daughter, Cecilia Dawn Matthews Udes; two brothers, Stanley Udes and John Donald Udes.

He attended the schools of Baltimore, MD. He was a former employee of Nine Inc., where he built cabinets for thirty-one years, and he retired from Kemp Electric Co. He was a member of the American Legion Post #40. He enjoyed working with plants and flowers and going to the yard sale at the Wagon Wheel in FL. Mr. Udes was known for his passion for his loved ones and neighbors. He loved life and people and many loved him. Ronnie Poling, was not only his son – in – law, but also his son in spirit and love.

Mr. Udes request for cremation was honored. A Private family gathering will take place on the family farm at a later date. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for James Truman Udes. Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com
