John Hansil Griffith, age 64 years, a native of Tucker County, and more recently a resident of Elkins, WV, departed this life Friday afternoon, January 22, 2016 at Nella’s Inc. at Crystal Springs, Elkins, WV.

He was born Monday, August 13, 1951 at Parsons, WV, a son of the late Phil Hansil and Madeline Lucy Robinson Griffith.

He is the last surviving member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Lester Griffith and Charles David “Charlie” Griffith; and two sisters, Janice Rae “Sue” Jones and Phyllis Elaine Lipscomb.

He attended the Hamrick School and Parsons High School. He was a former employee of Kingsford Charcoal Company. He enjoyed listening to music and singing.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. The Reverend Dave Snyder will officiate and interment will follow at the McNeeley Cemetery at Hendricks, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for John Hansil Griffith. Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
