Judith Sabol McCauley, 64, a resident of Elkins passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. This follows a long battle with cancer which she fought with strength, courage, grace, and wit. Judy was born on August 11, 1953, in Phillipsburg, PA.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph Sabol and Ann Sabol, who survives in Ramey, PA. On July 4, 1982, she was married to Michael McCauley. They were delighted to raise two children: Lea Michelle, who resides in Baltimore with her husband, Jonathan Martin; and Ian Daniel, who also lives in Baltimore. Also left to cherish her memory are her sister, Eileen McKeown, who resides in Grampian, PA with her husband, Dick, and her brother Joe Sabol, who resides in Poquoson, VA with his wife, Joyce.

Judy graduated from Loch Haven University in PA with a degree in Special Education and went on to earn her Masters in Special Education at Marshall University. She dedicated her career to education in the community, teaching in a variety of settings including public schools, adult education, and Davis and Elkins College.

She went on to serve her community as a Social Worker, advocating for the needs of children in Randolph and surrounding counties. A strong supporter of arts in the community, Judy was a member of the Log Cabin Quilters Guild, an avid gardener, and a lover of cats. Memories of her love, spirit, and endearing laugh will always be treasured by her husband, children, and many friends. A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.

The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Judith Sabol McCauley. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.tomblynfuneralhome.com.
