Katheryne Marie “Katy” Heath Snyder, age 97 years, a resident of Parsons, WV departed this life Monday, September 12, 2016, at Cortland Acres at Thomas, WV.
She was born October 15, 1918, at Davis, WV, a daughter of the late Melvin and Ella Heath. In December of 1950, she was married to Emory Snyder, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Deborah “Debbie” Kay Snyder; and one brother, Wayne Heath.
Surviving are one brother, Warren Heath of Ohio; two nieces, Carol McCullough (Tim) of Florida, Donna Heath of Ohio, and one great niece, Kimberly McCullough, of North Carolina. Also surviving are special cousins JoAnn Pregley (Sonny) and Myra Freer (Bud) and many other cousins.
She was a graduate of Davis High School with the Class of 1936. She was an employee of the former Belmont Clothing Store at Davis. She was a nurse, working at the former Tucker County Hospital at Parsons for twenty years, and worked for the Senior Companion Program for fifteen years. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Davis for twenty years and she never missed a Sunday.
A Graveside Service were conducted at the Davis Cemetery at Davis, WV on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 1 p.m. The Rev. Neil Parsons officiated and interment followed.
