Our beloved mother, Leah Virginia Booth, passed away at the age of 92 on Friday morning, May 2, 2025.

Leah was born on August 19, 1932, to John W. & Ethel Vanscoy Davis in Elk, WV. She attended the two-room school at Elk through 8th grade and then in 1975 returned to her education to receive her GED.

Leah lost her first love, Denzil Lee Judy, in the Korean War. In 1952 she met Danny Von Booth, and they married July 23, 1953, celebrating 48 years of marriage before his passing on June 28, 2001.

Among Leah’s most significant accomplishments was raising her four children who she loved dearly. As a military wife for 24 years, she bore most of the responsibility of raising her children and managing her household while her husband served our country.

Prior to motherhood Leah worked at the Tucker County Hospital. After raising her children, she returned to work delivering Meals on Wheels to Senior Citizens in Tucker County.

Leah enjoyed quilting, her flowers and traveling with her husband. She also spent her lifetime hunting and fishing with her husband, her boys and her dad. Some of her fondness memories were of their fishing trips to Canada.

Leah will be lovingly remembered by her children Denzil Booth & his wife Dolorce, her daughter Dannette & husband Pat Parker and son Daniel Booth & wife Mary along with her sisters Sharon Hinkle, Kay Carr and Fay Carr. Her daughter Rebecca Virginia Shiflett preceded her in death.

She was the proud grandmother of Dana Liscomb, Jeff Booth, Tammy Heitz, Jeremy Booth, Pat Liscomb, Heather Booth, Leah Loar, JR Shiflett and Clay Parker. Her legacy also includes 13 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Leah was also preceded in death by her siblings Juanita Davis, Rosalea Knotts, John Davis, Denver Davis, Patty Davis, and Robert Davis.

Visitation will be held at Hostetler Funeral Home on Monday from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 1pm. Rev. Justin Jones will officiate, and interment will follow in Brights Chapel Cemetery at Elk. The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Leah Virginia Davis Booth.
