Linda Lou Bright Helmick, 79, a resident of Hendricks, passed from this life Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown.
Linda was born Saturday, September 8, 1945, in Parsons, a daughter of the late Buddy Bright and Ruth Irene Carr Bright. On July 12, 1963, in Oakland, MD, she married Donald Wayne Helmick who survives. They had celebrated sixty-one years of marriage.
Also left to cherish Linda’s memory are three children, David Helmick and wife, Tina, of Fairmont, Kevin Helmick and wife, Donna, of Hambleton, and Annette Rhodes and husband, Paul, of Hendricks, one sister, Shirley Farrow of Pennsylvania, one brother, Eldred Bright of New York, four grandchildren, Bayli Helmick, Steven Rhodes, David Rhodes, and Jon Rhodes, four great grandchildren, Kyliey Rhodes, Maddie Rhodes, Wrenley Rhodes and Aspen Kline Rhodes, several nieces and nephews, and one great grandchild on the way.
Linda was a graduate of Parsons High School. She had worked for Parsons Footwear, the Parsons Hospital, and for many years as a waitress at Canaan Valley Resort. Before retiring, she managed the Fairview Senior Center. She loved baking and cooking, and was known for catering weddings, and baking both wedding and birthday cakes. She was gifted with an ability to make moist cakes, pepperoni rolls, and bread chocolate chip cookies. She was a member of the Parsons Church of God. She will be missed by her family and friends.
