Louella Jewell Fike Mcelrath

Louella Jewell Fike McElrath, age 67 years, a resident of Parsons, WV, departed this life Friday, April 7, 2017 at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital, with her family by her side and under the care of West Virginia Caring.  She had been in declining health for the past three weeks.

She was born, Friday, July 5, 1949 at Parsons, WV, a daughter of the late Reverend Earl E. Fike and Rachel Blance Helmick Fike. 

Surviving are one son, Robert Landon McElrath, III of TN; one daughter, Rachel Lauren Aker and husband Josh of Parsons; one brother, Harold Fike and wife Wanda of Blackman Heights; four grandchildren, Dominique Meadows, Robert McElrath, IV Kennedy Aker and Karson Aker; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are two brothers, Troy Fike and Earl Fike, Jr.; and two sisters, Virginia Gladys Fike and Saundra Kay Fike.

She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1967.  She attended the Fred L. Eberly School of Practical Nursing and was a graduate of Davis & Elkins College, where she received her Registered Nurses License.  She was a former employee of Cortland Acres, Davis Medical Center, Suburban General Hospital in Pittsburgh and Hospice Care, retiring during 2009.  She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church of Parsons.  She enjoyed reading, going out to dinner and talking with her friends.  She had a wonderful sense of humor. The love of her life were her grandchildren.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m.  Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11na.m.  The Rev. Philip Dent will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Louella Jewell Fike McElrath.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
