Margaret Josephine “Sue” Smith Collins

Margaret Josephine “Sue” Smith Collins, age 80 years, a resident of the Benbush Community, Thomas, WV departed this life Sunday morning, June 23, 2019 at Pine Ridge at Kingwood, WV surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Friday, June 9, 1939 at Moatsville, WV, a daughter of the late Bradford Ray Smith and Beulah Goldie Glendening.   During 1954 at Maryland, she was married to Bueford William Collins, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sons, Robert Lee Collins and wife Mary of Moorefield, David Dale Collins, and Edward William Collins and wife Kathy of Terra Alta; an adopted son, Robert Lee Collins, II and wife Mary of Thomas; one brother, Bradford Smith; one sister, RosaLee Lawson; two half-brothers; and two half-sisters; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are one son, Bueford William Collins, Jr.; one daughter, MaryAnn Lampley; three brothers, Charles Smith, Philip “Hop” Smith, Ray Willard Smith; and half-brother, Donald Smith; two sisters, Phyllis Smith and Juanita Moats.

She attended the schools of Barbour County.  She was a homemaker and a Presbyterian by faith.  She moved to Thomas, WV during 1964.  She enjoyed the outdoors, music, gardening and loved camping.  She was a very hard worker, very loving and caring.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday   from 4 to 7 p.m.  Final rites were conducted at the funeral home on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 11 a.m.   Pastor Janet Stanton and Pastor Roy Waybright officiated and interment followed at the Concord Cemetery at Belington, WV.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements for Margaret Josephine “Sue” Smith Collins.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com
