Marjorie Ellen Booth Hedrick passed away on Dec. 11, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital from a major stroke she suffered at her home. She was surrounded by family at her bedside when she went to be with the Lord.
Marjorie was born in Thomas on Nov. 22, 1930 to Edwin Judson Booth and Catherine Jane Pase, Cyrus, Booth who both preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her husband of 38 years, John Andrew Hedrick of Hendricks and her son, Terrence (Terry) Lynn Hedrick of Redding, Calif., her older sister, Eloise Marie Booth Kosta of Lodi, Calif., a sister, Edwina Joan Booth, Poling, of Parsons, three half sisters, Winifred Cyrus, of Thomas, Lillian Booth Parella, of Fairmont and Lucille Booth, Spangler, of Stockton, Calif., and a half brother Fred Booth of Stockton, Calif.
She is survived by a brother, Edwin Judson Booth Jr./Wanda Bohon Booth, of Parsons, a sister Margaret Eleanor Booth/Bob Chase (deceased) of Gillette, WY and a brother Robert A. Booth/Connie of Cincinnati, Ohio.
She graduated from Parsons High School in June of 1950. On Dec. 16, a951, she married John Andrew Hedrick of Hendricks at red House Md. She is survived by her six children; Michael Lee/Maria of Ripon, Calif., John A. Hedrick Jr./Vera of Hendricks, Janet Marie Renteria/Fred of Modesto, Calif., Ronald Steven of Stockton, Calif., Richard Alan/Judy (deceased) of Stockton, Calif., and Thomas Edwin/Catherine of Rancho Calaveras, Calif.; grandchildren; Michael and Matthew Hedrick, Michelle and Melyssa Hedrick, Chad and Robin Hedrick, Kelly, Kristy and Kara Martin, Ryan Paul Hedrick Johnson, Sarah Hedrick, Ashley Hedrick Johnson, Chrystal and Jerry Hedrick and great grandchildren; Eliana and Cameron Hudnall, Jack Nilsson, Taylor Lynn Hedrick, Madalyn K. Halverson and Lauren Jean Caron, Cortez Antonio Gacayan, Amelia martin Sasse, Alexis, Aubury and Paul Kaelbli Jr., Joelen and Darien Hedrick and numerous nieces and nephews.
Growing up in Parsons, she worked at the Duncan Telephone Co. run by her father, answering phones on the switchboard, she also worked at a woolen mill. In 1961 the family moved to Hendricks and lived there until September of 1969 when they moved to Stockton, Calif. In Stockton, she worked at the Northern California Youth Authority, where she retired in July, 2009.
She was able to travel to West Virginia several times to visit family and friends and attended a granddaughter’s wedding on July 28, 2012. She attended Central United Methodist Church where her mother Catherine Booth also attended and sang in the choir for many years. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her because she was a very loving, caring, compassionate and selfless person.
She was cremated and her remains will be brought back to Parsons where, after a family graveside ceremony, she will be buried with her parents in the Parsons City Cemetery.
Celebration of life was held at the Central United Methodist Church in Stockton on Dec. 29. Contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in honor of her name.
