Phyllis Elaine Griffith Lipscomb, age 66 years, a resident of Hambleton, WV departed this life Wednesday morning, December 16, 2015 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, WV, with her family at her side and where she had been a patient for the past three weeks.

She was born Thursday, February 17, 1949 at Parsons, WV, a daughter of the late Phil Hansil and Madeline Lucy Robinson Griffith. On July 10, 1992 at Oakland, MD, she was married to Michael Edward Lipscomb, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Jeffery Lynn Griffith and wife Kim of Wheeling, WV, Christopher Scott “Dudley” Earnest of Hambleton; one daughter, Pamela Diane Kerr and husband William “Buck” of Carrollton, TX; one brother, John Hansil Griffith of Elkins; eight grandchildren, Holli, Aaron, Nathaniel, Mason, Gabrielle, Charli, Donald and Linsie; four great grandchildren, Jayden, Olivia, Jacob, and Layla; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are two brothers, Roy Lester Griffith and Charles David “Charlie” Griffith; and one sister, Janice Rae “Sue” Jones.

She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1967. She was a graduate of the Clarksburg Beauty Academy and was a hairdresser for many years, owning and operating her own shop in Philippi. She was a former home health care worker, employed at the Tucker County Senior Center for seventeen years. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God at Rosendorf. Phyllis was always doing things for others and she loved children. She enjoyed camping, vacations and yard sales.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at 1 p.m. Pastor Adam Snyder officiated and interment followed at the McNeeley Cemetery at Hendricks, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Phyllis Elaine Griffith Lipscomb. Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
