Marvin James Davis

Marvin James Davis,76, of Davis, WV died February 14, 2016 at Cortland Acres. He was born February 11, 1940 in Onego, WV a son of the late Floyd James and Gertie Helmick Davis. He was raised by Etta Howdshell and Jake Mick. Survivors include his wife, Lena Ellen Wilfong Davis, two sons; Henry Keith (Donna) Davis of Davis, WV, Marvin Joseph (Becky) Davis of Weirton, WV, three sisters, Alice Harper, OH, Louise Poling, Parsons, WV, Anna Mae James, Montrose, WV,seven grandchildren; Sonja Klus, Joseph Davis, Sarah Davis, Laurie Hicks, Missy Spencer, Steven House and David Pete Scott, five great-grandchildren; Geno Klus, Bladon Spencer, Shilyn Spencer, Zaylen Spencer and Shelby Hicks. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Elaine Arnold in 1986, three brothers; Theodore Davis, Clinton White and Denny White and one sister; Geraldine Butcher.

Marvin was a member of MT. Top Hunt Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge # 103 of Davis. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.

Friends will be received on Wednesday Feb. 17 at Hinkle Funeral Home from 3-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Hinkle Funeral Chapel on Thursday Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Todd Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow in the Davis Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
