Mary Louise Nutter Kalar Sisler

 Mrs.Sisler001Mary Louise Nutter Kalar Sisler, age 91 years, a resident of the Shavers Fork Rd, Kerens, WV departed this life Sunday morning January 17, 2016, surrounded by her family at Nella’s Nursing Home of Elkins WV.

She was born Monday, August 4, 1924 at Volga, WV, a daughter of the late Haymond Norval and Lalinka Triplett Nutter. She was twice married. First to Mark William Kalar, who preceded her in death in 1992. On August 23, 1997 at Elkins, WV, she was married to Sherman Bryan Sisler, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Stephen Grant Kalar and wife Patricia Ann of Mechanicsburg, PA, Joseph Lee Kalar and wife Nancy Marie of Pheasant Run Community; one stepson, John Clarence Sisler and wife Darlene of Thomas, WV; three stepdaughters, Janet Sue Seiberg and husband Stan of Phoenix, AZ, Joyce Ann Shrader of Elkins, Judy Kaye Caplinger and husband Kenneth of Scott Depot, WV; one sister, Betty Lou Casto; three grandchildren, Kimberly Kalar, Joseph Kalar, Jr. and William P. Kalar; and four great grandchildren, Brittany Nicole Getty, Brandon Cole Getty, Ashley Michelle Kalar and Breanna Renae Kalar; one great great grandson, Christopher Cole Getty; four step grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are one brother, William “Billy” Nutter; one grandson, Timothy Kalar and one step grandson, Adam Ketterman.

She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1943. She was an employee of the former Dorman Mills, until its closing, a former employee of DHHR, and she retired at Secretary for the West Virginia Dept. of Highways. She was a member of Irons Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Bowling League, and won several trophies. She enjoyed knitting, crochet, canning and cooking. She loved her grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. The Reverend J. Michael Lantz will officiate and interment will follow at the Family Moore Cemetery at Porterwood, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Mary Louise Nutter Kalar Sisler. Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
