Melvin Linn Ketterman, 59, of Dryfork, WV died Friday, May 26, 2017 at his home. He was born May 25, 1958 in Elkins, WV a son of the late Daniel Layton and Mabel Roy Ketterman.


He is survived by one son, Joshua (Lei Wang) Ketterman, Boston, MA, two daughters, Quinn (Victor) Ketterman Venable, Pittsburgh, PA and Amber Ketterman, Elkins, WV, two grandchildren, Aoi Linn and James Thomas, six siblings, Mary Kathleen (Herbert) Mallow, Mabie, WV, George Kelly (Glenda) Ketterman, St. Charles, MO, Janet Cross, Hambleton, WV, Dolores (Brad) Brinizer, East Lake, OH, Norma Jean (Glenn) Knotts, Red Creek, WV, David Ketterman, Dryfork, WV. He was preceded in death by 5 siblings, Daniel Ketterman II, Carol Sue, Paul Shannon, Royce Lee, and Burley Lewis.

Mr. Ketterman left behind several beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Melvin was a carpenter by trade with a commercial building contractor license. He was self-employed and worked for various building contractors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a unique sense of humor that everyone appreciated and was a generous person that enjoyed helping others.

Friends were received Monday, May 29, at Dryfork Assembly of God Church from 5-8 p.m Funeral services were held, 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 30, at Dryfork Assembly of God Church with Rev. John Moyer officiating. Interment was followed in the Roy Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
