Mildred Louise Johnson Davis, 74, of Thomas, West Virginia passed away July 14, 2020 at Cortland Acres. She was born May 3, 1946 in Albert “Douglas”, West Virginia daughter to the late Fredrick and Ruth (Long) Johnson.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her loving husband, Floyd “Junior” Davis. Also surviving are two sons, Frederick “Freddy” Davis and wife Donna, Randall “Randy” Davis and wife Debra, all of Thomas, West Virginia, one brother, Robert Johnson, Owing, Maryland, three sisters, Sharon Hancock, Lugoff, South Carolina, Elizabeth Kennedy of Fairmont, West Virginia, and Margaret Fowler and husband Don of Greenville, South Carolina, four grandchildren, Holly Davis, Keisha Davis, Hunter Davis, and Jacob Davis, one great-granddaughter, Paisley May, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Winifred Gibbs, and five brothers, Fred, Thomas, Gail, Dale, and Harvey Johnson.
Mildred frequented Joe’s Italian Supper Club to visit with her friends. She enjoyed collecting bells, crocheting, and ceramics. She was a member of the Church of Wilderness and Thomas Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of Thomas Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She worked in an array of jobs over the years, including several restaurants, Tucker County EMS, and Cortland Acres.
Friends were received at Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home, Friday, July 17, from 4– 8 p.m. Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, July 18, at Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home with Rev. John Callaway and Rev. Pam Scott officiating. Interment followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
