Okey William Eye, age 82 of Madison, passed away June 8, 2014 at Wade Park Veterans Hospital in Cleveland. He was born on January 18, 1932 in Red Creek, WV, a son of Ivan and Eva Pearl (Waybright) Eye.
Okey proudly served as a Sergeant in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and at home. He served as a tank commander in the Army National Guard. He worked for 36 years as an overhead crane operator for the Cleveland Crane Company. He enjoyed, hunting, farming ,and most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandkids.
Okey is survived by his daughters: Barbara (Gary) Means of Madison, and Rebecca (Rick) Siebold of Madison; Son: Okey (Sherry) Eye of Mill Run, WV; Grandchildren: Jessica Rae Eye, Jason, Stacey, and Rachael Means, Christopher (Bailey) Tate, Matthew Tate, Ricky Lindoerfer, Samantha and Miranda Siebold; Great Grandchildren: Caleb, Jaylin, Quinten, and Jacob; sisters: Norean Hedrick, Irene Nelson, Frances Riffle, and Martha Smith; brothers: June, Mike, and Don (Mary) Eye. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: John, Everett, Robert, and Dixon; sisters Juanita, Mary Ann, and Emma Lou.
Friends were received from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, June 13, at Hinkle Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 11a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Flanagan Hill United Methodist Church in Red Creek, WV with Rev. Neil Parsons officiating.
