Patrick “Pat” Allen Gray

Patrick “Pat” Allen Gray, 72, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Mon General Medical Center in Morgantown. He had been in declining health and death was unexpected.
Pat was born Tuesday, February 3, 1953, in Parsons, a son of the late Odford Olin “Buck” Gray and Margaret Pauline Tahaney Gray. On December 14, 1986, at Oakland, MD, he married the former Lynda D. Goss, who survives. They had celebrated thirty-nine years of marriage.
Left to cherish Pat’s memory are four children, Rebecca R. “Becki” Pennington, Pamela J. Lipscomb and husband, Jeff, Delbert “Paul” Pennington and wife, Melinda, and Audrey A. Fulmer and husband, Daniel, two nieces, Sabrina Vanscoy and Kelly Pennington, ten grandchildren, Amber Montgomery and husband, Scott, Aron Lipscomb and wife, Haylee, Trevor Lipscomb and wife, Alyssa, Christina Pennington and companion, Jason, Katheryn Marsh and husband, Brennon, Mary Carr and fiancé, Alex, Ethan Carr and companion, Haley, Brendon Scott and companion, Cheala, David Scott III, and Derek Scott, sixteen great grandchildren, Fox, Carter, Kamden, Lilyanna, Brailynn, Delbert, Bryson, Benjamin, Liberty, Jackson, Hunter, Brianna, Micalea, Lilah, Bonnie “Lue”, and Makenna, and a special family friend, Cindy Jamison.
Pat was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Greg Lynn Gray and Timothy “Tim” Lee Gray.
Pat was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1971. He was a long-time employee of D&W Truck Lines as a truck driver, dispatcher, and then as the safety manager. He then went on to work for Tucker County 911 as an emergency dispatcher, as well as a paramedic for both Tucker County and Randolph County. In 2002, he was awarded the Tucker County Chamber of Commerce Community Person of the Year. He had also served as a Parsons City Council member. Beyond professional achievements, Pat was valued as a mentor, collaborator, and steady presence during time of change and challenge.
Visitation will be held at Hostetler Funeral Home on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 11am until 1pm, the funeral hour. Rev. James Snyder will officiate, and interment will follow in Parsons City Cemetery. The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Patrick “Pat” Allen Gray.
