Paul Wesley Mccrum, age 75 years, a resident of Parsons, WV departed this life early Wednesday morning, August 19, 2015 at his home. He had been in his usual health and death was sudden and unexpected.
He was born Tuesday, October 24, 1939 at Hendricks, WV, a son of the late Luther and Mary Edith Ketterman McCrum. He was twice married. First to the former Bonnie Mae Anthony, who preceded him in death March 24, 2007. Second to Vickie Mae Bunnell, who survives at Parsons, WV.
Surviving are three sons, Clayton Wesley McCrum and wife Debra, Ronald Eric McCrum and Michael Paul McCrum, all of Parsons; one brother, Charles Michael McCrum and wife Ruby of Parsons; four sisters, Jeanette Bishoff of Parsons, Deloris Lowther and husband Charles of Dailey, Karen Sue Cross and husband Lannie of Oregon, and Connie Louise Wilkerson of Pembroke Pines, FL; six grandchildren, Brittany, Loni, Shawna, Cody, Eric and Lauren; three great grandchildren, Rylan, Olin and Secilia; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are one son, Paul Wesley McCrum, Jr.; and one brother, Ronald Luther “Robbie” McCrum.
He attended the Hamrick School and Parsons High School. He was an employee of Dorman Mills, the Parsons Tannery, Armstrong Paving, Kingsford Charcoal Co., Ricottilli Lumber, Parsons Security at Canaan Valley Resort, Bishoff Auto Center, Elza Logging and he retired as a Crew Forman for the Asplundh Tree Service. He was a member of the Parsons Church of God for many years. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping and during his younger years, he played Men’s Softball.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. Pastor David Snyder officiated and interment followed at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV.
