Thomas W. Stemple, 79, of Vienna died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015 at Muskingum Skilled Nursing Home. He was born in Thomas, a son of the late Delpha and Clarice (White) Stemple.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church and retired from Marbon/Borg Warner Chemicals/G.E. plastics after 33 years. Tom was a special man who had a love for God and Family…especially his grandchildren. Much of his time away from work was spent volunteering as a coach for Vienna Recreation, in community outreach, and as a Boy Scout Leader for many years. He also thoroughly enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, carpentry work, singing in the church choir, playing softball, bowling and WVU football and basketball. He will be greatly missed by all.

Tom is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret (Harper) Stemple; three sons, Richard Stemple (Cheryl) of Spartansburg, SC, Don Stemple (Becky) of Parkersburg and Bob Stemple (Ann) of Evansville, IN; a daughter, Susie Waters (Dean) of Parkersburg; 15 grandchildren, Chelsea, Madison and Darby Stemple, Bethany Dimagno (Aryn), Derek and Nathan (Haley) Stemple, Andrew (Heather) and Jessica Summers, Ryan (Jamie), Christopher (Lindsey), Eric, Jason and Lauren Stemple and Luke and Jordan Waters; two great-grandchildren, Addison and Natalie Stemple; two brothers Joe (Loretta) and Dave (Marion) Stemple; a sister, Patricia DuBois (Gerald) and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.

Services were Monday 10 a.m. at First Methodist Church of Parkersburg with Dr. Damon Rhodes officiating. Entombment was at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation was held at Leavitt Funeral Home of Parkersburg.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.LeavittFuneralHome.com.
