Pauline Halterman Fitez, age 96 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Thursday morning, March 31, 2016 at Colonial Place. She was born February 26, 1920 at Moorefield, WV a daughter of the late Brown and Estie Halterman. She was married to Paul R. Fitez, Sr. who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was one sister, Margaret Loughrie and two brothers, Louis and Junior Halterman. She is survived by one son, Paul R. Fitez, Jr., and wife Nancy of Birmingham, AL, granddaughter, Nancy Nichols and two great grandsons, Joby and Jefferson Wrona, of Park City, Utah. One brother, John Halterman of Keyser, WV and three sisters, Frankie Riemenschneider of Elkins, Betty Hott of Lehew, WV and Beverly Baughman of Clearwater, FL. Pauline was a graduate of Moorefield High School, Potomac State College, West Virginia University.
Pauline’s request for cremation will be honored and a graveside service will be held at a later date at the Olivett Cemetery in Moorefield, WV. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Third Avenue, Davis, WV 26260 or to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 302 First Street, Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Mrs. Fitez. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Pauline Halterman Fitez.
