Penny Sue Hill Auvil

Penny Sue Hill Auvil, age 60 years, a resident of Parsons, WV, departed this life Tuesday evening, March 12, 2024, at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown, WV., surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 12, 1963, at Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late Willard Clay Hill and Kathryn Francis Freeman Hill. On June 24, 2007, at Union Chapel Church in Clover Run, she was married to Timothy Lynn Auvil, who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Amber Nicole Scarff and fiancé Gregory Riffle of Linn, WV, Natasha Kathryn Scarff of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Shannan Auvil Hartness and husband Tyler of West Union, WV; one brother, Gary Lee Hill and companion Mary Preston of Clarksburg, WV; four granddaughters, Audrey Smith, Kristiana “Tia” Smith, Vivian Smith, Ryleigh Hartness; one grandson, Isaiah McLemore; many nieces, nephews, relatives and other loved ones.

Preceding her in death are two brothers, Terry Hill and Samuel Hill; and one sister, Sherry Lynn Stull.

She attended the schools of Harrison County. She was a Christian by Faith. In her earlier years, she worked at the Pete Dye Golf Course in Clarksburg, and ResCare. Penny was a homemaker who loved camping, gardening and playing horseshoes. She loved music, animals and her pets. Penny loved her children and grandchildren very much, and she was also known as “Nana”. She was a very loving and caring person, who will be greatly missed.

Penny’s request for cremation has been honored. The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, WV, on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 11 AM to 1 PM.  On Saturday at 1 PM, a Celebration of Life Service will take place.  Pastor Robert Leard will officiate and inurnment will follow at the Limestone Cemetery at St. George, WV.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Penny Sue Hill Auvil.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
