Ray Delton Bohon, 83, a resident of Montrose, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He had been in declining health.
Ray was born Monday, May 11, 1942, at Etam in Preston County, a son of the late Ora Delton Bohon and Ocie Fay Sigley Bohon. In Parsons, on January 15, 1969, he married Lela Amanda Sherman Bohon, who survives. They had celebrated fifty-six years of marriage.
Left to cherish Ray’s memory besides his wife, are two sons, Steven Bohon and Bernie Bohon and wife, Lucretia, six grandchildren, Donnie Poling, Tiffany Poling, and Kristi Poling, Clarissa Bohon, Brandon Bohon, and Cody Allen Bohon, twelve great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law Elizabeth Bohon of Tunnelton, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Ray in death besides his parents, was two daughters, Amanda Faye Bohon and Ramona Helen Bohon, a son, David Delton Bohon, a sister, Agnes Bohon, two brothers, Jobie and Elmer Roy Bohon.
Ray attended the schools of Preston County. He worked construction and logging and had been employed by D&W Construction, Kanawha Stone, and Mineral Fabrication. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, mechanic work, and spending time with his family. He loved his family very much.
Visitation will be held at the Hostetler Funeral Home on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home chapel on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at noon. Rev. James Snyder will officiate, and interment will follow at Moore Community Cemetery in Moore. The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Ray Delton Bohon.
