Robert Anthony Maravia

Robert Anthony Maravia, 82, passed away on June 21, 2018 in total comfort and peace with his brother, Allen, by his side at the WVVA Nursing Facility in Clarksburg, WV. He had been a resident of the facility since Nov. 2010 and was dearly loved by the staff. He was known for his singing, positive attitude and appreciation for all of life’s pleasures.


Robert was born on Jan. 9, 1936, in Pendleton Co, WV. He graduated from Davis High School in Davis, WV in May 1955. He joined the U.S. Army in June 1955 and was stationed in Korea, He received an Honorable Discharge in June1958. He lived in Tomas, WV, for most of his life and faithfully attended the Thomas United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tony Maravia, and mother, Bernice Sherwood Maravia. He is survived by his brother, Allen Maravia, of Davis, WV and his sister, Beverly Maravia Geroski and her husband, Vincent Geroski, of Dover, DE.

Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home Wednesday 27, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11 a.m. at Hinkle Funeral Chapel with Hospice Chaplain Jerry Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Thomas United Methodist Church (in memory of Robert Maravia) Brown St. & 1st Street, Thomas, WV 26292.
